Playing Circus

I Suppose I was about 3 or 3 1/2 year's old When Dad Begain to give me Rides on the old Family horse[.] About that time We Boys Begain to notice and do things[.] I suppose I was about 4 years old when the folks took us to Curcis at Leigh Nebr.  Where we saw the Kicking mule and Clown's[.] of course we liked that and talked about it as all Kids do[.] of Course my Brother Frank Being older and Seeing more things Being done Around the farm. he Decided after we had Gotten home that we should have a Show of our own].] So he got the Family horse out[,] put the Breast Colar on her[,] But didnt put the Rest of the harness on her and hitched her to Dad's harrow cart[.] But that didnt work to good So he Decided he would have to hold Shafts up[.] So he found a Rope and a dog Chain and put around the horse, Which worked fine until It worked Back In her Flanks[.] all this time he was play Ring Master,[.] I was Supposed to Ride the Cart Which I did, But When the Rope and Chain worked Back in her Flanks the kicking Mule wasn’t In it with The old Family horse[.] all I could See was heels above my head and hear my Brother Saying [“]hang on Bud we[‘]re having a Show[“] I was So Scared I expect I Couldnt do any thing But Hang on[.] We had an uncle Liveing with us at the time[.]  [Uncle Edward E. Anderson, W. O.’s brother]  he was taking Civil Service and Studying to Be a mail Clerk on the Rail road[.] he and mother came out and Stopped the horse and also our fun.  And Show

            They made my Brother put the horse Away and he Did But he went out the Back door of the Barn and across the field to Where dad was Cutting weeds on the far side of the place.  he made Dad promise that he wouldnt get whipped when he got home and he Didn’t[.] But I did. from mother.
