Other Pictures and Items Brought to the Reunion

Luetta brought a poster of pictures which are reproduced here along with the caption by each.  Two other pictures on the poster are seen in the section on Peter's Art.  One is a picture of the model ship and the other is of the farm at Mead which appears to have served as the model for the painting of the farm.

There were two other  items on the poster Milford brought besides the two relating to the model ship.  One was a photograph and the other was a letter Peter Jepson had written to his grandson "Sixtus" (Milford's father) upon his graduation from high school.

Nancy Hanson has a locket which was given to her grandmother, Emma, by her mother, Peter Jepson's first wife, Lovisa.  It will be given to Emma's namesake, Nancy's granddaughter, Emma Hanson.  Inside the locket are tiny pictures of both Emmas.  Sorry, the scanner did not get very clear pictures but here they are.  First, the locket, then the two pictures inside.

We also had this picture of the bride and groom, Alice Jepson, and John Gibson, with their attendants.  Alice and John were married at the home of the bride on May 22, 1907.  Only three were identified on the back of the photo.  Edith was 15.  The wedding took place at the home of the bride, the Jepson farm.

Basketball was a prominent topic of conversation in the Jepson family this year.  Mead High School won the Class D State Championship in March 2009.  This was the first time since 1935 that Mead made it all the way to the top.  The team this year included Eric Johnson, Peter Jepson's great, great, great grandson.  The team in 1935 included Gilbert Wilson, Peter Jepson's grandson.  And the coach, Frank Sampson, later married Peter Jepson's granddaughter, Gladys Gibson.  Here is a program from that 1935 tournament.

Rosita also brought this picture taken last summer at the Sampson family reunion at Branson, MO.
