Ernest Anderson

Ernest, and his twin, Edward, was born at Howells, Nebraska, in 1902 and moved with the family to North Bend when he was nine.  About 1925 Ernest married Dorothy Knepper at Schyler, Nebraska.  Dorothy was a native of that area having grown up on a farm in Bone Creek Township, Butler County, south across the Platte River from Schyler.  Dorothy was the third child in a family of eight.  The two youngest were also twins.

Ernest and Dorothy had two children, Gerald and Carolyn. They were living at North Bend and Ernest was working in Fremont at the time Gerald was born on August 31, 1926.  When Caroyn was born on August 30, 1928, they were in  Indianapolis, Indiana.

By 1930 the Ernest Anderson family was living in Sioux City. Ernest was a traveling salesman for a baking company and Dorothy was a clerk in a department store. At some point after this Ernest worked for Fleishman Yeast Company as a seller and installer of bakery supplies. By 1964 he had started a brokerage business dealing with bakeries and department stores in 12 states in the southeastern part of the United States. In 1968 Ernest and Dorothy were living in Kingsport, Tennessee. From there they went to Avon Estates in Dekalb County, Georgia, which was their home until they died. Photo Album

Edward (Bud) L. Anderson's photo album contained several snapshots of Ernest.  The two were cousins, Earnest being two years younger than Bud.  They hunted together and when Bud joined the National Guard in about 1918 Ernest had to try on the uniform. Or maybe they both joined.  Here are Bud's snapshots.
